one line a day : a five-year memory book

One Line a Day Journal £8.27 at Amazon

I've never written a journal in my life. Looking back I'm glad. It could quite easily have fallen into the wrong hands in the busy household I grew up in! Given that I'm now well into my twenties and feel happy and settled in my life, I have the urge to record more memories. I thought this would be a great way to do that.

The journal itself is beautiful - a gorgeous colour with luxurious gold detailing and made to last. On the back is a little panel which reads "Each page in this keepsake journal features space to record the events of the same calendar date over the course of five years. As the pages fill, you'll discover happy coincidences and relive forgotten moments, adding unexpected joy to all your days and years." Cute, right?

Have any of you kept a journal?

  14. I've been keeping this exact diary for a month or so now, and so far I have remembered to write in it! I love the idea of coming round full circle and not only writing in it, but reading my past entries.x

  15. I love this book, my boyfriend bought it for me for our first anniversary last October and I can't wait until the second so that the entries start to overlap! I'm currently in my second year of uni so my life is going to change so much over the next 4 and a bit years and I can't wait to see the difference from year 1 to year 5!

  18. Wow, that sounds amazing. In fact, I'm turning thirteen in a couple of months so one of these would pretty much document my entire teen years... Yes, I'm getting one!

  24. This is awesome because I'm actually doing this on my phone: keeping a one-line diary that I email to myself every so often. I really should buy a pretty little book like this...but I feel more secure with online journals these days. Like you said, it's so easy to fall into the wrong hands. It's a nice thing to have if you don't plan on writing anything too personal, though. :)

  25. I still keep a journal! I use my planner (normally) and then I realize my blog is actually mapping down my days. So on days that I don´t blog I write down thoughts into my Moleskine daily planner.

I kind of like the idea of having something specially for that though :) I´m a sucker for anything that allows me pen down words, thoughts. I love the color too!

  37. I have one of these, I like it so much more than a regular journal - because of the limited space i can only write down what stood out most to me that day, which is much better than trying to write down every single thing that happened x

  38. I have one of these but it's the question and answer version... You answer a question every day and see how your answers change over the years :) Such a lovely idea

I've always kept a journal, although it did fall into the hands of my curious sister at times! At the moment I have the Q/A five year journal, as well as a normal one. I find it a great way to escape from everyday life for a while.

  54. I think that writing in a Journal is something really special. You can keep memories and just express ourselves without the need to worry about what the others will think. By the way, I would love if you checked by blog out... I just started it so I'll be glad if I received a little bit of motivation.

  57. I have one of these and am currently on my second year, and have written in it faithfully. I love looking back at what I was doing a year ago on that date and how I've changed. It's a very clever idea and doesn't take much time every day, so it's very good for my busy schedule. enjoy! xx
