gym freak > get motivated with a new kit!

One January a couple of years ago I really got into the habit of exercising regularly and fortunately, that habit stuck. I now love staying fit and honestly mostly enjoy the time I spend working out. One thing that really helped me initially was to kit myself out with some good fitness clothes. There's nothing more demotivating than not having the 'right' stuff. I love performance clothing because it makes working out so much more comfortable. The selection of tops and bottoms I have all still look as good as new even after two years regular wear, so it makes sense to pay a little more for items that will last for a very long time. JD sports have an extensive collection of women's performance clothing that's worth checking out. Pictured are a handful of my favourite items which would be on my wish list if I was just starting out.

p.s how are the new year's resolutions going girls? Any of you stuck with the exercise habit like I did?

  2. I spotted that print vest in JD today and I was so tempted to buy it. You can look fashionable as well as looking like a hot sweaty mess!

  4. I've been swimming since January, which has definitely helped me become a bit more fit and lose a tiny bit of weight since. It's difficult, though! Although swimming does work every part of the body, I sometimes feel that it doesn't work certain areas enough..I also wish that there was a regime for diet/exercise that I could stick to more easily. How did you do it??

  5. I've stuck with my resolution of doing plenty of dancing as they're classes, so you have to go really or you miss out on learning part of the routine!

  6. Ohh I would like to stick to my gym regime but I'm soooo lazy... Now I'm thinking about investing in some pretty work out clothes - but as I know myself, I'm not sure it will help... :/

  11. Ahh so cute. Love the capris. Honestly if I have pretty workout clothes I'm so much more likely to exercise. I'm still sticking with my resolution but some new clothes would definitely help! xx

  13. Having the right gym clothes definitely helps me to feel motivated and most importantly, comfortable while exercising.

My friend and I joined the gym three weeks ago and I can honestly say I'm really enjoying working out and even miss it, just a little mind, when I don't go.

Love the leggings & patterned vest you've picked!

  14. I'm really struggling to find running clothes that aren't ridiculously expensive at the moment! I've taken up running which I'm really enjoying but as a size 18, it's really hard to find clothes which are flattering and aren't really expensive. I kinda begrudge spending £60 on a jacket I only wear for running. Everything seems to stop at a size 16.

    1. Have you tired Karrimor at Sports Direct sweety? It's pretty low cost and I'm sure it goes up to size 18? Some of the tops etc come up large so you may find a size 16 fits :)x

Anyway re: the post - I loveeee those Nike Bra tops and the funky variety of colours...I have a collection.x

  17. I completely agree! I just recently joined the gym and I had to go out and get some actual fitness clothes just to feel motivated. I am hoping I stick with the gym! :) Maybe I need more work out clothes!! ha

  18. I agree! I love getting new gym clothes. Makes you want to wear them and hence do exercise :)

I've pretty much made the 'get fit' new year's resolution every year since I was like 15 but 2012 was the year it really took hold. I didn't manage to start it until summer 2012, but since then I've kept it up.

For me weight watchers was a good diet plan for me to follow and then I found fitness classes the way forward in terms of exercise.

My journey and tips and tricks is over at www.belliebegone.blogspot.co.uk if anyone is interested :)

  23. I love everything you chose actually. I completely agree, wearing the right clothing to the gym really makes you feel that you are actually making a difference I feel. Also, feeling comfortable in the gym is another must and I find that wearing real gym wear makes your body feel so much more comfortable than just a baggy top and trousers. People must get so warm! :)
