Autumn Winter Wishlist

Hey! I'm Daisy and have a beauty and fashion blog called Girl On The Move. Sofia was kind enough to let me post here whilst she hops off to Cornwall for a little holiday in the (hopefully) sun - so hello to Sofia's Journal readers!

I'm a person who is constantly lusting after item upon item - whether it be beauty or fashion related - wishing that I could just see an item I loved and snap it up without feeling any of those pangs of guilt that are often inevitable after a cheeky shopping splurge. To nurture this, ahem, addiction to purchasing new items constantly I like to make lists now and again. Wishlists to be precise. I think about what I'm coveting and what I really need and come up with a shortlist that comprises a mixture of the two. Then, when payday comes around, I buy all or some of the list. Simple really!

Here's what I'm currently lusting after. Obviously we're coming into Autumn/Winter and whilst I like to look at what's hot on the runway I often opt for what I like. These are all items that seem to be fashionable at the moment but are also things that I believe won't tire of the season and therefore should be timeless, for at least a little while.

DIRTY PINK NAIL POLISH
From L-R; Models Own in Vintage Pink, O.P.I in Chicago Champagne Toast, Essie in Innocent.

Don't you think that all these nail colours just shout elegance and sophistication? I always favour a pink nail polish over any other colour. The four year old in me still loves having pink nails as I think it looks so feminine and goes with a lot of colour palettes. Whereas hot and barbie pinks are more reminiscent of summery days, these dirty and dusty pinks remind me of falling leaves in autumn and chunky knit scarves on cold evenings.

MILITARY CAPES/PONCHOS
Topshop, £70

Capes are back and whereas last year (when I was a little more fashion shy) I would have hidden from the idea of a cape - I now think that they are very cool and I'm eager to try one out as it gets a little colder. This one from Topshop is very 'military', a shape and style that I feel comfortable in. I love the quirky orange exterior lining and big shiny buttons and it just looks really cosy. For me, that makes it a winner.

LEATHER JACKETS
River Island, £140

Yes, yes, another jacket. But I'm English and it can get pretty chilly here! I've never owned a leather jacket. I think I always thought that they weren't girly enough for me and that the more rock-ish feel to them would look ridiculous. However, now that I'm more confident with dressing myself, I think that a lot could be done with a leather jacket to make it fresh and girly, whilst still being essentially cool. I really like this one from River Island, with the fringed detailing on the chest and silver zip elements. And I like that it's cropped too.

PEACHY, BRONZY BLUSH
From L-R; Sunbasque Sheertone Blush, Warm Soul Mineralise Blush, both by MAC.

Both these blushes are described as peachy toned with flecks of warm gold; Sunbasque being a satin-y version and Warm Soul a highly shimmery one. I think this shade of colour is so flattering on the skin. It warms up the complexion and creates a bronzed feel whilst still looking quite natural. Since I made this wishlist I have actually bought Warm Soul and really love it. I can't wait to buy Sunbasque!

HEELED BROGUES
Both Office, £65

I love this style of shoe for A/W - I think it's a really cool twist on the conventional brogue by adding something fresh and trendy with the chunky heel. The colour and overall look of this Office pair is gorgeous. I would love to get both colours! I also really like the material that the heel is made of - an almost plastic-looking finish that contrasts against the soft suede appearance of the shoe. Love these.

So, that is my A/W wishlist. Do any of these products grace your 'most coveted' for next season? Or is there something here that you already have and can't wait to get out again when it gets a little chillier? I hope you enjoyed reading this post and thank you very much to Sofia for letting me guest post on her gorgeous blog. If you have time, I would love for you to check mine out.

Thanks for reading!
With love, Daisy x

  5. I love your nail varnish picks, the OPI one in particular is lovely (: Being a miniature 5"1, I've always kept away from cape inspired coats, but I saw a really pretty one in Tesco earlier haha, so tempted. xx
