Liz Earle Does Make-Up

I'm a big fan of Liz Earle. Whilst the infamous Cleanse and Polish aint really my thing (I'm far too attached to gel cleansers) I think this is a company who know exactly what they're doing. September 15th 2011 marks the launch of Liz Earle Colour, a much requested departure from their traditional skincare lines. I was crazy excited to try the Sheer Skin Tint ahead of the launch - "rich and creamy like a foundation, yet so lightweight it glides effortlessly onto the skin, blending easily to enhance natural skin tones."

This feels a lot like a tinted moisturiser but the effect it has is a little more special than that. It really does create a great finish. You absolutely cannot tell you have make-up on but skin looks infinitely better than in its natural state. Its really good at refining those small pores that are sometimes noticeable across my cheeks. For those of you with really good skin this product is probably all you need week in week out. For everyone else it's ideal for all those occasions you need help but don't want to look like you're wearing foundation - camping trips, lying by the pool on holiday, visits to the gym, first night staying over with a new boyfriend, etc. The rest of the time you'll probably rely on traditional foundation and concealer. You get the picture?

The Sheer Skin Tint comes in three shades - Bare, Beige, Beach. I have olive skin but I don't see much sun (I live in Manchester. Enough said) so I'm definitely not super tanned right now. I chose No. 2 Beige and it's perfect. It looks kinda dark and orange straight from the tube but completely disappeared upon application. I'm guessing there's some clever technology which ensures the colour works for a broad spectrum of tones. When you order by mail you'll be provided with samples of all three shades. Before opening the full size product you can test the samples. If you've made a mistake just return the full size tube for an exchange. Simples!

Overall verdict: At £21 for this 40ml tube it's just too pricey for me. I think its a great product which lives up to its claims (and I'll undoubtedly enjoy using up the entire tube) but I have reservations over how long 40ml will last. Still, its a useful item for your kit if you have the spare cash!

That's all for today girls...have a wonderful weekend :)

  7. I love Liz Earle too. This sounds like a great product but not sure if I would purchase as I prefer a heavy coverage. x

  9. £21 is a lil overpriced for 40ml

  13. I personally love this product and feel it's well worth £21 especially when you compare it to other 'high-end' brands such as Chanel or Dior who charge around £30. Although there are cheaper brands who probably do just as good tinted moisturisers too, but for me this is the one lol

I've been wearing it every day since it arrived on my doorstep and if anything my opinion of it grows higher and higher
