I braved the crowds in manchester at the weekend on the lookout for an outfit for christmas day. Whilst I had a completely unsuccessful shopping trip I did enjoy strolling round the christmas markets and soaking up the scenery. The city sure does look pretty covered in snow.
Things I ♥ about Manchester: beautiful architecture, the people, cafe culture, St Ann's Square, the big wheel, Primark, Manchester United Football Club, great food, traditional pubs, the casino, Selfridges.

Wow that ferris wheel is amazing!! I want to go here so badly. Great post!

ReplyDeleteWe went to Manchester on Sunday and had a wander round the markets - they were fab. Plus I had the nicest hot choc ever from one of the stalls! I love Primark too, Manchester is the closest store to me and I don't get to go nearly enough!! xx
ReplyDeleteall these photos made me so, so excited for xmas!!! x
ReplyDeleteIt looks lovely. I've only ever been once but I didn't get to see much. I only travelled down, went to the MEN and then had to travel back home.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos Sofia (: I would absolutely love to visit Manchester, my friend from Uni comes from there, and I keep meaning to go home with her for shopping! Gosh, I cannot believe we are a mere 10 days away from 2011, it's absolutely mad! xx
ReplyDeleteawww those pics are soo festive! i never really think about what to wear on christmas day... although it always tends to be something of the woollen/dress variety... and nice thick tights even though it is very warm inside :S

I'm not from Manchester originally (from a little town in between Bolton and Blackburn hah) but I've spent so much time/lived there for a while and it just feels like home, like my city. Well, OUR city haha. Love the Printworks, especially Wasabi for yummy sushi!
ReplyDeleteI had mini pancakes from the stall outside Selfridges on Sunday. Expensive but so yummy! They did waffles too which I definitely need to try xx
Gorgeous photos, I'm starting to get oh so Christmasyy now, and seeing photos like these brings a smile to my face :)
ReplyDeleteThe wheel may be great, but it's EFIN scary, oh my gosh! I did not have fun when I went on it, actually holding on for dear life. Such a loser, haha
I bought something to wear for Xmas day today actually, a long see-through black shirt/dress. I plan to wear it with my purple bodycon dress underneath for colour & so tights! My mum is working xmas day, so I'm having a 2nd one with her on boxing day too- am yet to find something to wear for that, but I'm sure I have enough to pull something together. I just like having nice, new pretty christmas outfits though
xx
i love manchester so much!!! i'm going to miss it when i go to uni next year :( did you try the hot cocktails in the polar bear? if you haven't, you need to.
ReplyDeletehaven't got anything specific for christmas day, i'll probably wear the same twee deer friend reindeer skirt i've worn for the last couple of years, but i did see some peter pan collared skater dresses in topshop the other day that would be perfect for christmassy type occasions... one can wish!

ReplyDeleteHow is your flat? My boyfriend and I have finally found a flat and we move in on the 31st, it's not Georgian or Victorian but it's adorable. I'll let you know when I post pics in case you want to have look! x
I'm from Manchester and absolutely love it here. lovely photos, very festive. I haven't really thought to much about my christmas day outfit yet, although it will probs not be anything too fancy as i'll just be at home so maybe something comfy.
ReplyDeleteI used to live in Manchester and have to say the people there are the friendliest ever! I'm in Norfolk now and it's just not the same! Well done you for braving the weather too! On Christmas dress I will be wearing a red flowery dress that I love, then changing into comfys cos I will eat too much!
