Mavala Double Lash

hitting 25 has not been that kind to me: breakouts, sparse eyelashes, fine lines etc. if someone had told me it'd be like this i'd have appreciated my 18 year old self a whole lot more!

i've been noticing the odd eyelash fall out each week during my cleansing routine. they look far less dense than they ever used to and i can't pinpoint a reason why. at the start of the summer i began to research online and came across a multitude of bloggers all complaining about the same issue. but then, alas, they talked about a solution and i perked up. until i read this tweet by matt logelin...

and then i felt crap again.

yes i have more serious shit to worry about. but i'd like voluminous eyelashes whilst i face my latest crisis.

boots are offering rapidlash (which currently has 26 five star reviews) for £39.99. i cannot justify spending this much right now but if you have the spare cash then it looks like a great option. instead i've opted to try the mavala double lash for £8.50 shipped. bargain (if it works!)

it comes with a mascara style wand and the idea is to apply it at night before bed and leave on all night. i'm hoping for noticeably longer, stronger and thicker lashes.

i know nothing about how this works and i haven't started to use it yet. this post is purely an introduction to let you know that i'm starting this evening and will continue use for 4-6 weeks before updating here with the results. let me know if you have a blog and want to trial this at the same time - it would be cool to have a number of reviews i could link to at the end of the trial period so that readers benefit from a broad spectrum of views.

what's your view on eyelash enhancement products? is it all a load of nonsense? have you ever tried any of the products on the market? would you consider it?

  2. Aw, don't let that tweet get you down! If it's important to you, that's all that matters. £39.99 sounds insane for that RapidLash stuff! You definitely went for the sensible option price-wise. I hope you see results from it.

By the way, congrats on reaching 200 followers. :)

  6. Welldone on 200! :) I hope to get that one day! I heard that if you put a little vaseline on your eyelashes it helps them appear longer but that wouldnt help with sparse lashes.

By the way, I was the girl that emailed you about using fonts for your blog posts. I didnt manage to do it :/ Do you think you could send me the code you use? It would be a big help.

    Much love, Louisa xx

  7. I think spending £39.99 on something that really works isn't such a bad idea, especially if the problem with your eye lashes bug you! Do you regularly use false eye lashes? Because I know the glue doesn't tend to be to kind on the eyes :)

  8. Ooh I've used this before! Me and my Mum used it but it kind of stopped working after a while haha. Am loving the L'Oreal Paris Eyelash Renewal Serum which is quite good though!

  9. @cowbiscuits - this could be the product for you by the sounds of it!

@candice - I read that it can be used on eyebrows too! how's it working for you?

@Louisa - hey! did you follow the instructions? how come you couldn't get it to work? at the end of that post (the link I gave you) there is a troubleshooting guide - check that out! I didn't think it was too difficult?

@Jordan - I agree completely but I don't think it bothers me enough to spend that much right now! I don't use false lashes(not often anyway) but I can imagine regular use would cause problems!

@Michelle - ooo, hadn't heard of the L'Oreal one, so will have to take a look :) Have a great weekend x
