my hair is fine (but i have quite a lot of it), wavy and naturally quite dry. it's long-ish but i'm still trying to grow it so that it hits my bra strap at the back. i'm a natural brunette and no longer dye my hair. my hair is in reasonable condition.
for shampoo & conditioner i'm still using loreal elive. reviewed HERE.
my current styling routine is as follows:

♥ redken extreme anti snap £15.35: this is a protein based leave in treatment which promises to reduce breakage. i apply a fairly small amount, avoiding the roots and focusing on the ends. this is a really useful product if you're trying to grow your hair but it doesn't replace wash-out intensive hair masks (it works quite differently). i've repurchased this three times so far and believe that it does strengthen my hair. i hate the price.
♥ tigi bed head superstar queen for a day £9.18: this is a thickening spray which should be applied to the roots only. i love the smell! yum yum! i apply this liberally all over my roots, especially the crown. don't be scared to apply quite a lot - it doesn't make your hair greasy in the slightest. this stuff really works! it gives amazing body and i'll definitely buy again.
♥ ghd thermal protector for normal/fine hair £9.95: this can be applied to wet hair before blow drying and/or dry hair before curling/straightening. i personally think this works better when sprayed on wet hair. i'm always reluctant to spray much on dry hair as it isn't a particularly fine mist and makes the hair look wet and sticky! overall, i don't really like this product and feel like there must be better options out there. can anyone suggest a great heat protector?
♥ tigi bed head headrush £11.09: this shine spray is amazing!! i love the smell. i love the superfine mist. i love the result. super shiny hair with no fuss. really does make your hair look amazing and healthy! i've repurchased this several times over the years and will keep buying - i don't see the point in trying other shine sprays when this works so well.
♥ aussie volume & gloss hairspray: i can't find a link to this online but you should be able to find it easy enough on the high street. the price was less than £5. i randomly bought this because i needed a hairspray and it was on offer. 'm so glad i came across it. this is definitely more than just a hairspray. it holds, volumises and gives shine all in one product. i've always found that it acts as an excellent barrier to moisture. the perfect hairspray for anyone who has fine hair.
have you tried any of these products? which styling products are you currently using? can you recommend me a heat protector that really works?
♥
I love Tresseme Heat Tamer Spray, works wonders! And it does not feel heavy or sticky at all! I really want to start using Redken products as I have been hearing wonderful things about them.
ReplyDeleteah, I love bedhead too :)
ReplyDeleteheadrush and superstar are my two faves, you have good taste!
xx
The ghd one is brilliant for protection but so sticky! Toni and guy do one which is alright. If you do find a good one let me know I'm still looking! X
ReplyDeleteThink I'm going to give the Tigi BedHead Superstar for a Day spray a go, my hair is quite fine and flat so a bit of volume would just look so much better. I just checked and it's only £7.45 on cheapsmells.com btw!

ReplyDelete@JessicaRose: hehe...yes, we both have good taste :)
@Emily: yes, exactly, I find it sticky. I keep using it but I'm really not sure about it.
@SequinThis: oh that's cheap! thanks for the tip! I definitely recommend you try it.
@Megan: I've been happy with all the bedhead products I've tried :)
