Lunch @ The Pheasant Inn

I love eating out for lunch, moreso than eating out during the evening. Today, I drove out into the country with one of my guy friends from my uni days. We hit up The Pheasant Inn in Burwardsley (near Chester) and it did not disappoint.

It's so warm here this weekend. But humid. Uncomfortable. And there are still clouds. I couldn't believe the clouds when we parked up...I always marvel at clouds like this. Makes me feel like I'm in a screensaver or a computer game! Don't they look so surreal? So big and fluffy, dominating the sky. A lot of people visit The Pheasant to sit on the patio out the front and take in the view. Across this landscape you can see all the way to Wales. The interior is pretty cool too:

People also visit for the amazing food. You might expect me to order a salad; what with dining with a boy and it being super hot. Jack chose the battered haddock and chips. I chose the same. Because that's how I roll.

There may or may not have been some red wine involved. We left happy, but in need of a walk. At one point we stopped at an opening of a hedge and I took this picture:

Doesn't it look like Heaven? When I capture images like this I wonder if any of us realise that perhaps Heaven is here on earth afterall. Not some place we go to when we die. This amazing country cottage was the highlight of the walk. Isn't it delightful?

There is a glass fronted living space to the left which takes full advantage of the views. I'd love to use this as a craft studio or a place to read:

Happy weekend everyone!
